McCarthy Tetrault and Thomson Reuters asked Peter Aprile to speak about how Counter Tax Lawyers PC has worked to improve legal service delivery and client legal outcomes at Evolve Law’s Tech-Savvy In-House Counsel (Toronto) event.
The event featured top forward-thinking in-house counsel, legal operations experts, and legal technologists including Bernadette Bulacan Starin, Thomson Reuters, Legal Technology & Performance Metrics Expert (formerly Serengeti), Ian Connett, Collective Inc., Legal Director, and Fernando Garcia, Nissan Canada, General Counsel.
Peter’s presentation focused on how Counter has used technology and data to increase the quality of inputs and deliver optimal client return on investment. Peter shared our The numbers say it all report to explain how law firms can use technology to generate better client results, and to challenge other client-centric law firms to start leveraging technology and data to:
- increase transparency and accountability;
- set benchmarks and KPIs;
- help clients understand the ligation, logic, and strategic direction;
- track the ways that better inputs can impact client results; and
- collaborate with clients and leverage all parties’ collective intelligence.
Although Peter’s slides don’t capture the bulk of the presentation (and some were just included to add a little levity), interested readers can review the slides to try to figure out how this is all connected and get a sense of Peter’s talk.
Enjoy!
The organisers will release the event video shortly and, at that time, we will share. In the interim, enjoy the slides!
