We want to add an energetic, smart, and experienced accountant to our team to handle our law firm’s bookkeeping and accounting tasks and to help us build and test CounterMeasure, i.e., the tax litigation software we are incubating.
You are a graduate of a recognized 4-year accounting or finance program with bookkeeping experience.
You are committed to personal and professional development. You want to grow your current skills and experience, and you are not scared to learn new things and always look for improvements to do better work.
You want to work with a bunch of obsessive – and good – people who’ve got your back. You want to have their back, too. You want them to trust your word and your work, and you want them to know that you will always try to put them in the best position. You want them to do the same for you.
Counter is a Toronto-based tax controversy and litigation firm. We help enterprises resolve tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Our law firm is a leader of the NewLaw movement striving to modernize the practice of law and create a new kind of tax litigation firm. We joke that Counter is in perpetual beta. We know that we will never stop figuring out better ways to work smarter and build stronger tax litigation cases. And the key to doing that is having a team of smart, dedicated people who always want to be better.
CounterMeasure helps clients and tax professionals set litigation strategy by quantifying costs, benefits, and risks so that clients can make better litigation decisions and maximize their return on investment during a tax dispute. We designed CounterMeasure to combine the collective intelligence of several tax professionals, leveraging the system’s computing power to amplify the level of insight we bring to every tax appeal.
We use CounterMeasure in our current tax litigation matters. You will help us to model live case scenarios, verify calculations, help identify bugs and suggest areas for improvement.
